Paris, je t'aime

Last bank holiday (for 1st of May) I spent 5 days in Paris. Just "Paris et moi", but it was amazing. Paris is really a city to get lost and enjoy yourself. Moreover when the weather is sunny and rather warm. And that, fortunately, was my case.
An European capital and cosmopolitan city is ideal if you are travelling alone, because you hardly missed anybody (of course, sometimes I would have like to share thoughts and vivences with someone, but travelling alone is also a really good experience). I don't need much to enjoy myself. Breathtaking views, vibrant atmosphere, monumental buildings, huge museums and a sunny day (or at least without rain, please, because the sky in Paris was often cloudy).
Eiffel tower, Louvre + Orsay + Pompidou Museums, Tuilleries gardens, Concorde square, Champs Elysées, Arche de Triomphe, Pantheon, Notre Dame, le Marais, Montmatre, etc. There is a place for everybody and for every moment in the french capital. A city that became popular from year 1000 and with several differents people's movements; revolutions, Impressionism, right of vote, freedom, fashion innovations... Even the Père Lachaise Cementery is extraordinary! A lot of famous people is buried there, among them Jim Morrison, Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Bellini, Maria Callas, Modigliani and much more. It was interesting visiting a cementery on Sunday; some tombs were even like a little chapel.
I was also in Versailles' castle with its beautiful gardens full of fountains. I recommend you to visit the musical gardens when they offer their water show.
Another visit, that made me special illusion (believe it or not), it was to visit Disneyland after 15 years waiting for it. Ok, then the park was totally new and I was just 9 years old, but better late than never. At least, I could enjoy this visit, although in a different way, because for an adult it is not so exciting. But Walt Disney Studios hat different interesting shows. The best for me was the stunt show with cars well equiped for this kind of action scenes. Just for driving professionals!
The truth is several dreams came finally true after a lot of years and this is an indescriptable sensation.
Take care. Hugs,
Lydia

  1. I love Versailles! It is so beautiful! It's been a long time since my last visit to Paris and recently I've been thinking I should go back. Then I can see how much French I remember...
I remember once when I was in Sardinia, by myself, having a lovely dinner, the waiter fund it strange that I was on my own and it was the first time I heard the great expression when he said 'mejor sola que mal acompaãda'. So true!
    see you soon
