EARTHQUAKE IN "L'AQUILA" (THE EAGLE)
One month is gone and I have not write my composition yet. Like I said to Felicity last Thursday I would like to write something about an eagle. A beutiful story that I heard once in my philosophy lessons. Unhopefully I did not remember exactly how it was. So that must still wait.
I just know I want to write something about "eagles", because this bird has been a symbol in many cultures and Empires. I think human beings has always admire this beautiful bird because he can flight very high and see whatever it occurs here in the earth. It had been nice when an eagle had warned us from this terrible earthquake in "L'Aquila". I was close to have been there for 2 weeks. In fact, a friend of mine is doing Erasmus there since last September. But don't suffer, she was here before this tragedy occurs. I read today that more than 200 people had died. This is horrible! I could not still understand how such a thing could still take place in a country like Italy, "the first world". Everybody think this things did not happen any more in the "wealthy" Europa. I feel very sad for all friends and relatives of all these souls. You maybe don't believe me, but I cannot have another feeling. This is not fair. They were just sleeping at 3.20 am when the earth began to move abruptly. They must be dreaming with the return of these majestous "eagle" I told you. The Himalaias Eagle, the Roman Empire Eagle, Our Eagle. She will come to rescue us. We must have hope in the future.
Sometimes is very difficult to have hope, I know. But we must go on thinking that, although life is hard, everyday is an opportunity to grow as person, to share unforgettable moments with the people we love. You never lose someone you really love. So, I say to these people, who is suffering, they have not lost their friends or relatives, because they will always remain in their hearts.

Your vocabulary is fine! I found the most 'interesting' and perhaps unforgivable factor of the earthquake is that, according to the papers, the tragedy could have been avoided but warnings were ignored. First world technology but...
AntwortenLöschenI agree with you Felicity. I still could not believe this could happen in Italy. My friend Eva should wait still till 27th April to go there and collect her things. Maybe she won't be able to remain there.
